Bio:

My name is Damon Scruggs and I am a abstract artist who lives in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. My current work is inspired by the beauty in our world. My work has an emotive towards the organic. The heavens above and the deep blue ocean are my inspiration. This is my attempt to draw the viewer’s attention to the beautiful planet we are all part of. I am a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute with a Bachelors of Fine Arts. I have been a professional Graphic Designer, Art Director and Creative Manager through my professional career. For the past four years I have been exploring a form of painting called Fluid Pour. My process involves studying images of astro and arial photography to inspire the work you see in my portfolio. Through different mixed media that is added into the paint, I’m able to come up with some very unique characteristics that are not typical of other fluid pour art. I’m able to achieve a 3-D typographical effect when using certain materials or a very cellular water like effect when using a different set of materials.
