Imagine if you will, taking an acoustic instrument, a guitar or drum for example, placing the instrument up against your body and strumming a string or tapping the drum. What do you suppose your body would feel? The note or sound would resonate throughout your body. If you could somehow depict this resonance, what would it look like? Imagine how this resonant sound would translate into a visual composition. Now, add the concept of movement as waves of energy traveling in multi directions, and think to yourself that if everything that we see, hear, or feel has movement and energy, how could it be synthesized to create a visual statement?
The best way I know how to create a visually stimulating oil or watercolor is to somehow let my mind distill the energy patterns of moving and still objects, combine them with symbolism from the ancients and stand out of the way – when the distillation occurs, this, becomes the vision in my mind as the observer. I see the energy patterns and translate them into a representation that is understandable, whether it be human, animal, plant, or still life.
When I stand out of the way and let the intuitive mind take over, the concepts that are revealed to me are astonishing. – Micros 5-28-2010
