I am professionally trained as a designer but have always been a sculpture and ceramic artist at heart. I attended the University of Kansas and received a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in industrial design in 2004. Since graduating I’ve worked as a furniture designer (studying under a master woodworker). Gone from being a corporate design consultant to a product designer in a small studio and worked in the field of freelance design and illustration. In the end…I always found myself playing with clay.
I have been involved in the arts from an early age, painting and drawing mostly. I got my first real exposure to clay in high school and fell in love with its forgiving nature and limitless possibilities.  I took ceramic courses throughout college and presently attend workshops, lectures, and ceramic events whenever I can.  In 2008, a personal dream was fulfilled when I started my own ceramic studio. The studio currently produces home furnishings, fine art sculpture and commissioned work for commercial and residential settings.

“As an artist, I allow my work to range in style, spirit and complexity to fit the mood. As a designer, I maintain high quality through patience and limited production.  It is my hope that this marriage of art and design will continue to guide my work and grow my love of ceramics”.
