Nancy Basinski is a Kansas City based artist working in pastel, oil and acrylic.  Strong design and luxurious color are at the core of her rich still life, landscape and abstract paintings.  Her handling of form and shape has a strong sculptural impact and an inviting sense of immediacy.  Nancy works primarily from life, both in the studio and plein air.  She is fascinated by the complexities one finds in strong yet simply stated designs.  Her compositions are a study of the sophisticated elegance of line, shape and color.  Strong colors and brillant hues are major components of her paintings.
