On Friday evening, February 5th at 5:00pm, we'll open the invitational “New Beginnings" pastel, oil & acrylic show, featuring representational works of art by many artists, notably: Gary Ozias, Rich Hayek, and Jean Terry. Also featured, are the bronze sculptures of Elizabeth Zeller. We'll be serving wonderful antipasti platters courtesy of Maker's Mark Bourbon House and Lounge in the KC Power and Light District. Beer, wine and coffee are available as well.   Because this is an invitational, you'll see only the best artists from around the region that belong to the Buttonwood Artists' Group. Buttonwood Art Space is located at 3013 Main Street, in the former Union Hill Arts Building. Many of the artists will be in attendance Friday evening and a few will also be at Buttonwood on Saturday. The opening will continue on Saturday, February 6th from 10:00am to 3:00pm, and the exhibit itself will remain on display Monday-Friday until March 26th. The Art Space is a vision of Jon and Wendy McGraw, who've dedicated themselves to many philanthropic efforts.  2010 is the fifth year of opening their building to our Art Space activities; to help grow opportunities for local and regional artists. Buttonwood will host 6 shows in this calendar year, and hope sincerely to see all of you here, to provide you with a glimpse of a different kind of artist in a new kind of Art Space.
